The Straight Shot
The proprietary Drum is the heart of Straight Shot as it anchors the Ball‐Tether in place as the Ball‐Tether and Drum rotates around the Drum‐Axle after club/ball impact. The Drum is fabricated from aluminum components that are precision‐welded and fastened together with stainless‐steel bolts and fasteners.
At the Drum’s core is a tubular aluminum shaft that house 2 high‐quality sealed ball bearings on each end. Attached to the center of the tubular shaft is a precision‐welded spring‐loaded aluminum yoke that is attached to the shaft with stainless‐steel bolts and allows the yoke to swivel on the tubular shaft. Attached to the bottom of the yoke stem is a threaded steel‐insert that also swivels on the yoke stem’s steel axle and is the attachment point for the Ball‐Tether’s stainless‐steel quick release connector. A cylindrical aluminum sleeve and 2 aluminum end‐caps house and protect the Drum’s internal shaft and yoke.
Great care is taken during fabrication and assembly of the Drum to ensure that tight tolerances are maintained so that the Drum rotates freely, smoothly and silently around the Drum‐Axle. This is critical as it insures that when a Straight Shot ball is struck, that the “feel” and sound at club/ball impact does not itself become a nuisance or distraction, or feel any different from hitting an untethered golf ball.
