The Straight Shot
The proprietary Ball‐Tether system is what makes Straight Shot fun and easy to use because the “feel” of a ball strike on Straight Shot’s Ball‐Tether is no different from the feel of hitting an untethered golf ball.
The tether is made from stronger‐than‐steel tubular 16‐strand polymer‐crystal fibers and is attached through the center of the ball by a special proprietary process. Although a 90 mph (144 kph) swing can generate more than 168 lbs (76 kgs) of centrifugal force on the Ball‐Tether, the high‐tech polymer‐crystal fiber cord can safely withstand a 1,000 lb (453 kg) load.
The tether is spliced to the ball in a way so that the length of the tether can be shortened or lengthened by pulling on the ends of the tether. This enables the ball to be lowered directly on (or close to) the turf‐mat for iron practice, and raised up to 50 mm (2.0 in) high off the turf mat for driver practice.
A clear plastic PVC Anti‐Lasso Sleeve protects the bottom section of tether and prevents the ball from lassoing around the club‐head or shaft (which could break or crack a club) for swings that miss the ball entirely and strike the lower section of of tether.
A steel quick‐release attaches the Ball‐Tether to the Drum’s steel insert.
